An undefeated team weekend, an 8–0 doubles run, and a memorable golden pickle.
Polar Bear Pickleball is celebrating an outstanding weekend of competition after the Hub Silicon Valley Grizzlies finished 10–0 at the UPL Arizona Showdown, held October 23–25, 2026.
Among the highlights, Polar Bear founder and Head Sensei Sandeep “Sam” Sanga and doubles partner Pramod Dabir went 8–0 together. One unforgettable moment was a 21–0 “golden pickle” in rally scoring—a rare result that made an already memorable weekend even more special.
Teamwork under pressure
The United Pickleball League (UPL) team format creates a different competitive dynamic from a conventional doubles tournament. Teams rely on roster depth, partnership chemistry, adaptability, and the ability to execute in high-pressure moments.
For Sam, the weekend was also a reminder of the value of deliberate preparation and trusting your partner. The strongest results rarely come from a single highlight shot; they come from making good decisions repeatedly, communicating well, and competing together.
Bringing the experience back to Polar Bear
That competitive perspective informs Polar Bear Pickleball's approach to drill partnering, sparring, and advanced gameplay. The goal is to help players translate practice into reliable performance when the points matter.
Congratulations to the Hub Silicon Valley Grizzlies on their undefeated Arizona run—and to every teammate who contributed to the result.
